Strawberry Compote

Compote is a French word for Mixture. It is a dessert originated in France, which is made of whole or pieces of fruit in sugar syrup.

Compote can also be served as a topping for other desserts as well. Here is a simple recipe to make strawberry compote. Enjoy!!

Ingredients
1 cup strawberries (hulled and cut into thin slices)
2 tsp lemon juice
3 to 4 tbsp Sugar
Method
Combine the strawberries, lemon juice and sugar in a small sauce pan on medium heat. Stir occasionally. Continue to stir until the mixture thickens slightly, for about 15 minutes. 
Turn off heat and let it cool. Refrigerate before serving it.
Note
You can spice up your compote with pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg.
